Outstanding Results Extend High-Grade Silver Zone
The final four holes of Advance's maiden drilling program at the Yoquivo Silver-Gold Project in southwestern Chihuahua, Mexico have delivered impressive results, highlighted by diamond hole YQ-25-007 which intersected 7.6m at 116g/t AgEq including a remarkable 1.11m at 2,063g/t AgEq (1,556g/t Ag & 6.6g/t Au).
The highest-grade interval revealed peak values of 2,584g/t AgEq (1,935g/t Ag & 8.5g/t Au), representing some of the best mineralization drilled to date in the central portion of the Pertenencia Vein.
"The very high grade results of up to 2,584g/t AgEq in diamond hole YQ-25-007 were exactly what we were hoping to see from our maiden program at the Yoquivo Project," said Managing Director Dr. Adam McKinnon. "Importantly, the position of this intersection at the base of the existing Foreign Estimate for Pertenencia extends high grade mineralization down dip by at least 60 to 70 metres and bodes very well for future potential Resource extensions."
Strategic Significance of the New Discovery
This new high-grade intersection holds particular importance as it extends known mineralization approximately 60-70 meters down dip from previous intersections in the lower northern portion of the Pertenencia Vein. Its position at the base of the existing Foreign Estimate highlights significant potential for future resource growth.
The recently completed maiden drilling program comprised 3,111.4 meters focused around the existing Foreign Estimate in the Pertenencia area. Previous holes in the program had already returned strong results including:
- 4.42m at 446g/t AgEq & 40.57m at 105g/t AgEq from YQ-25-001
- 8.84m at 140g/t AgEq & 16.37m at 104g/t AgEq from YQ-25-002
- 17.5m at 111g/t AgEq & 1.27m at 516g/t AgEq
Additional Discoveries North of Known Resources
The company also reported encouraging results from three scoping holes (YQ-25-005, 006 & 008) completed to the north of the existing Foreign Estimate. All three intersected promising mineralization in narrow high-grade structures, including:
- YQ-25-005: 0.9m at 418g/t AgEq and 0.3m at 649g/t AgEq
- YQ-25-006: 0.33m at 397g/t AgEq
- YQ-25-008: 2.02m at 173g/t AgEq including 0.55m at 493g/t AgEq, and 1.75m at 240g/t AgEq including 0.56m at 645g/t AgEq
Understanding Epithermal Silver-Gold Systems
The Yoquivo Project features a classic low-sulphidation epithermal vein system within Mexico's prolific Sierra Madre Occidental volcanic belt. This geological setting is known for hosting numerous world-class precious metal deposits.
Epithermal deposits form relatively near the surface (within 1-2km) when hot, mineral-rich fluids circulate through fractures and faults. The distinct textures observed in Yoquivo's veins—including fine colloform to crustiform banding, bladed calcite, and open-space filling—are characteristic features of low-sulphidation systems that often signal potential for high-grade precious metal zones.
These systems typically display the following characteristics:
-
Formation Environment: Epithermal deposits form in volcanic environments at relatively shallow depths, typically between 50-1,500 meters below the surface, where temperatures range from 150-300°C.
-
Mineralization Style: Low-sulphidation systems like Yoquivo are characterized by quartz veins with distinctive textures. These systems generally contain less than 2% sulphide minerals.
-
Metal Distribution: These deposits often show vertical metal zonation, with gold and silver concentrated in specific bands or shoots within the vein systems.
-
Structural Controls: Mineralization is typically controlled by pre-existing structures such as faults and fractures that provide pathways for mineralizing fluids.
The mineralization at Yoquivo occurs within four principal vein systems (Esperanza, Dolar, San Francisco, and Pertenencia) that have been mapped over strike lengths exceeding 3,000 meters. Individual veins range from 0.2 meters to more than 5 meters in width.
Next Steps for Advance Metals
Following receipt of these final assays, Advance's technical team has commenced work to update the geological model for Yoquivo. This updated model will inform further exploration and evaluation programs, potentially including an upgrade to a JORC-compliant resource.
The combination of these high-grade results and the demonstrated potential for resource expansion at depth positions Advance Metals to potentially significantly increase the overall resource base at Yoquivo.
Investment Potential
Advance Metals' silver discovery represents a compelling investment opportunity in the precious metals sector for several key reasons:
-
High-Grade Nature: With intercepts grading over 2,000 g/t silver equivalent, Yoquivo demonstrates exceptional grade potential that could support robust project economics.
-
Resource Growth Potential: The recent drilling has confirmed that high-grade mineralization extends beyond the current Foreign Estimate, highlighting substantial upside for resource expansion.
-
Strategic Location: The project is situated in Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental, one of the world's premier silver-gold districts with established mining infrastructure and expertise.
-
Clear Development Path: With the maiden drilling program now complete, Advance is positioned to update its geological model and potentially move toward a JORC-compliant resource, representing clear catalysts for potential value creation.
The exceptional grades encountered in the recent drilling, particularly from hole YQ-25-007, suggest that Yoquivo could evolve into a significant silver-gold project with continued exploration success. Investors interested in exposure to precious metals discovery and development should consider monitoring Advance Metals' progress as they build on these promising initial results.
