  • Terra Uranium Uncovers High-Grade Gold, Silver, and Tin at Historic Ottery Mine

Terra Uranium Limited (ASX:T92) has revealed exceptional drill results from its newly acquired Ottery Tin Project in New South Wales, showcasing significant high-grade mineralization at Terra Uranium Ltd that could transform the company's growth trajectory beyond its uranium assets.

Historic Mine Data Reveals Untapped Potential

    The company's detailed review of historic drilling data has uncovered remarkable intercepts including 66m @ 0.52% Sn from 27m (including 14m @ 1.52% Sn from 54m) and a significant gold intercept of 24m @ 2.01 g/t Au from 48m (including 3m @ 11.25 g/t Au from 48m).

These results come from the historic Ottery Tin Mine, which was previously the largest hard rock tin producer in New South Wales' New England region, having produced approximately 2,700 tons of tin oxide at an average grade of 2%.

T92 Executive Chairman Andrew Vigar commented: "The T92 exploration strategy has been expanded from just uranium to tin, silver and gold in Australia. The valuation of past work since 1980 on the Ottery Tin project has highlighted significant past drilling results for not only tin but also gold and silver."

    Multiple High-Grade Zones Identified

Six reverse circulation (RC) holes drilled in the centre of the prospective area at Ottery delivered notable shallow tin results:

    • PO-004: 42m @ 0.35% Sn from 15m
    • PO-005: 36m @ 0.26% Sn from 29m
    • PO-008: 42m @ 0.38% Sn from 31m
    • PO-009: 49m @ 0.19% Sn from 27m
    • PO-010: 66m @ 0.52% Sn from 27m (including 14m @ 1.52% Sn from 54m)

The Electrolytic Zinc Company (now part of Rio Tinto) identified wide zones of tin mineralisation in the 1980s, with hole OPDH1 returning 203m @ 0.057% Sn from surface (including 18m @ 0.13% Sn from 27m).

More recent drilling has also revealed exceptional silver values, including:

    • PO-010: 27m @ 24.2 g/t Ag from 28m
    • PO-014: 30m @ 24.4 g/t Ag from 55m (including 8m @ 49.5 g/t Ag from 67m)

Understanding Cassiterite: The Key Tin Mineral

Cassiterite (SnO2) is the primary ore mineral for tin, containing approximately 78.8% tin when pure. This oxide mineral is resistant to weathering and often found in alluvial deposits. At Ottery, cassiterite occurs within a series of five lodes hosted by an intrusive porphyry unit, surrounded by wide hydrothermal alteration zones.

High-grade mineralization at Terra Uranium Ltd's Ottery project is particularly valuable because it contains not just tin but also significant gold and silver credits, which could substantially improve the economics of any future mining operation. The growing demand for critical metals in a single deposit creates potential for multi-commodity production from a single operation.

    Strategic Location and Development Timeline

The Ottery tenement is strategically positioned, abutting the Taronga Tin project being developed by First Tin (LON:1SN), which is 29.9% owned by Metals X Limited (ASX:MLX). The Taronga project has a resource of 23.2Mt at 0.16% Sn and is located just 10km from Ottery.

This proximity to an advanced tin project creates potential synergies for development and provides context for Ottery's geological setting within the broader New England tin province. The project shows significant near-term development potential given the extensive historical data and existing infrastructure in the region.

    Terra Uranium's next steps include:

    • Processing additional historical exploration data
    • Commencing site access discussions
    • Planning further drilling to expand on the high-grade zones
    • Evaluating the extensive mineralised zone, which is at least 300m long, 30m wide, and extends vertically for at least 120m

The Investment Case for Terra Uranium

Terra Uranium presents a compelling investment opportunity through its diversification into critical minerals beyond uranium. The company now offers exposure to:

    1. Multiple Critical Minerals: Uranium in Canada, plus tin, silver, and gold in Australia
    2. Low-Risk Jurisdictions: Projects in Australia and Canada, both politically stable mining destinations
    3. High-Grade Potential: Exceptional drill intercepts at Ottery indicate potential for a significant mineral system
    4. Strategic Location: Near other developed tin projects, potentially offering infrastructure advantages

The company's dual focus on uranium in Canada's Athabasca Basin (where it holds 29 claims over 120,336 ha) and critical minerals in Australia positions T92 to benefit from growing demand for both clean energy fuels and technology metals.

Why Investors Should Track This Emerging Critical Minerals Play

High-grade mineralization at Terra Uranium Ltd has strategically positioned the company at the intersection of two powerful market trends: the growing uranium market driven by nuclear energy expansion, and the increasing demand for critical metals like tin in electronics and renewable energy infrastructure.

This diversification strategy across multiple commodities reduces risk while maximising exposure to growing markets for critical minerals essential to modern technology and energy transition. Furthermore, the Ottery Project's combination of high-grade tin with gold and silver credits could provide the company with significant revenue potential.

The involvement of experienced mining executives like Andrew Vigar, who has extensive experience in resource estimation and exploration, provides technical credibility to the company's endeavours.

For investors seeking exposure to multiple critical minerals across diverse jurisdictions, Terra Uranium offers a unique opportunity to participate in exploration success across multiple commodities, with each offering significant upside potential as the world transitions to cleaner energy and technologies.

The high-grade mineralization at Terra Uranium Ltd's Ottery project demonstrates the company's ability to identify and acquire projects with significant potential for multiple commodities that are essential to the modern economy.
