Aurum Resources Drills 367 g/t Gold at Depth, Reinforcing Resource Growth Ambitions at Boundiali
Aurum Resources (ASX: AUE) has reported new diamond drilling results from the Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire, with the latest batch including a high-grade intercept of 0.72m at 367.05 g/t gold from 485.94m at the BMT3 deposit. According to the ASX announcement, the result sits outside the current Mineral Resource Estimate and supports the company's case for further resource growth ahead of the next Boundiali resource update targeted for the end of Q3 CY2026.
The announcement covers 36 diamond drill holes for 9,452m completed across BMT3, BMT2 and BMT1 on the northern half of the BM tenement, where Aurum holds an 80% interest. The drilling formed part of Aurum's broader 100,000m CY2026 Boundiali program, which is aimed at both increasing ounces and improving confidence in existing and emerging mineralised zones.

The Numbers That Matter: Standout Drill Results Across All Three Deposits
The latest drilling included a mix of infill, step-out and extensional holes. In the report, Aurum stated that the programme intersected gold mineralisation outside the current resource boundary, a point that matters because it may support future additions to the Boundiali inventory.
BMT3: High Grades Continue at Depth
BMT3 remains the strongest contributor in this release. The current resource at the deposit stands at 18.6Mt at 1.3 g/t gold for 750,000oz, and the new drilling suggests the mineralised system continues below the current model.
Key intercepts reported from BMT3 included:
| Hole ID | From (m) | Interval (m) | Grade (g/t Au) | Highlight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MBDD397 | 485.94 | 1.76 | 150.87 | incl. 0.72m @ 367.05 g/t Au |
| MBDD376 | 179.00 | 15.50 | 3.88 | incl. 9.50m @ 6.04 g/t Au |
| MBDD359 | 280.00 | 10.00 | 3.46 | incl. 8.00m @ 4.24 g/t Au |
| MBDD371 | 240.90 | 7.60 | 2.10 | incl. 4.00m @ 2.15 g/t Au |
| MBDD386 | 264.00 | 3.37 | 2.85 | incl. 1.00m @ 5.41 g/t Au |
The company described visible gold in core from hole MBDD397, adding geological support to the very high-grade assay. Aurum also noted that mineralisation at BMT3 is hosted in a diorite body between volcanic and sedimentary rocks and is associated with pyrite, quartz veining and alteration minerals.
In simpler terms, the gold is linked to altered rock and quartz-rich zones that can often be traced through drilling. Furthermore, BMT3 has a reported strike extent of 2.3km and remains open at depth and along strike, according to the update. For investors, that means the current resource may not yet define the full scale of the system.
BMT2: Building Toward a First Resource
BMT2 currently has no resource classification, but the latest drilling continues to build the case for one. Aurum said more than 1km of strike has now been tested, with potential to extend the trend beyond 2km when combined with earlier northern results.
Key intercepts reported from BMT2 included:
| Hole ID | From (m) | Interval (m) | Grade (g/t Au) | Highlight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MBDD385 | 112.00 | 15.00 | 1.05 | incl. 1.00m @ 10.29 g/t Au |
| MBDD385 | 129.70 | 66.30 | 0.61 | incl. 4.23m @ 1.94 g/t Au |
| MBDD384 | 48.00 | 6.00 | 1.79 | incl. 1.90m @ 4.80 g/t Au |
| MBDD388 | 110.50 | 2.50 | 1.58 | incl. 1.20m @ 1.59 g/t Au |
The broad 66.30m at 0.61 g/t gold interval from MBDD385 stands out less for peak grade and more for continuity. Wide zones of moderate grade can be important in open pit resource modelling if follow-up drilling confirms they are laterally consistent.
Management also stated that several assays at BMT2 are still pending. That leaves scope for the geological picture to sharpen before the next MRE update.
BMT1: Infill Drilling Aimed at Converting Known Mineralisation
At BMT1, Aurum is using infill drilling to test areas where historic drilling was too widely spaced to support classification. The current resource is 8.8Mt at 1.1 g/t gold for 320,000oz.
Key intercepts reported from BMT1 included:
| Hole ID | From (m) | Interval (m) | Grade (g/t Au) | Highlight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MBDD389 | 120.20 | 6.80 | 28.76 | incl. 2.80m @ 69.53 g/t Au |
| MBDD367 | 123.00 | 2.41 | 14.38 | |
| MBDD367 | 135.00 | 8.00 | 2.13 | incl. 4.00m @ 3.82 g/t Au |
| MBDD392 | 88.50 | 6.00 | 2.02 | incl. 0.71m @ 4.15 g/t Au |
| MBDD394 | 151.16 | 8.84 | 1.02 | incl. 1.00m @ 4.22 g/t Au |
The very high-grade interval in MBDD389 highlights the presence of richer zones within BMT1. However, the broader investor takeaway is less about one standout number and more about the role of infill drilling in converting known mineralisation into reportable resources.
Understanding Mineral Resource Classification: Why Does Drill Spacing Matter?
A key part of this update is not just the assay grades, but how the drilling may feed into future resource categories.
A Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) is a formal estimate of how much mineralised material is present, what grade it carries, and how confidently it can be defined. Under the JORC Code 2012, resources are grouped by confidence into Measured, Indicated, and Inferred.
An Inferred Resource is the lowest confidence category. It means there is enough drilling to suggest the mineralisation is continuous, but not enough detail to define it with higher certainty.
Why Does This Matter for Aurum?
According to the update, parts of BMT1 and all of BMT2 have been limited by older drilling that was too widely spaced. That does not mean gold is absent. It means the spacing between holes has not yet been tight enough to support classification.
When geologists reduce the spacing between drill holes, they improve their ability to show that mineralisation continues between those holes. If results remain consistent, that can support the inclusion of more tonnes and ounces in the next MRE.
For investors, this is one of the more important aspects of the announcement. Resource growth does not only come from discovering more mineralisation at the edges. It can also come from upgrading already identified zones into categories that can be included in formal estimates and later in mine studies.
"Our latest results from BM continue to build the case for further resource growth at Boundiali," said Dr Caigen Wang, Managing Director of Aurum Resources. "With 16 diamond rigs owned by Aurum now active across Boundiali, these results will feed directly into our next major resource update, targeted for the end of Q3 CY2026."
Boundiali Sits Within a Larger 4.38Moz Group Resource Base
The latest BM drilling sits within a broader gold inventory across Aurum's Côte d'Ivoire portfolio. In the announcement, the company reported combined group resources of 4.38Moz, made up of the 3.22Moz Boundiali Gold Project and the 1.16Moz Napié Gold Project.
| Project | Indicated (Moz) | Inferred (Moz) | Total (Moz) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boundiali Gold Project | 1.70 | 1.52 | 3.22 |
| Napié Gold Project | 0.35 | 0.82 | 1.16 |
| Group total | 2.05 | 2.34 | 4.38 |
Boundiali's Indicated resource increased to 1.70Moz in the May 2026 update. That matters because Indicated material carries a higher confidence level than Inferred material and is generally more useful in detailed economic studies.
The project also already has a Maiden Ore Reserve of 1.21Moz, reported in June 2026 as part of the Pre-Feasibility Study. The reserve is entirely in the Probable category.
| Mining area | Probable tonnes (Mt) | Au grade (g/t) | Au (koz) |
|---|---|---|---|
| BDT1 | 10.3 | 1.0 | 323 |
| BDT2 | 17.5 | 0.6 | 354 |
| BMT3 | 8.8 | 1.4 | 383 |
| BST | 5.5 | 0.8 | 145 |
| Total | 42.1 | 0.9 | 1,210 |
This places the new drilling in a different context from a pure greenfields exploration story. Boundiali is already moving through study work, and additional resource growth may influence mine planning and project economics over time.
Operational Scale: 16 Owned Drill Rigs and a 130,000m CY2026 Plan
Aurum's update also highlighted the scale of its drilling capacity. The company said it now has 16 company-owned diamond drill rigs operating across the Boundiali Gold Project, with a larger 130,000m CY2026 drilling plan across its portfolio.
The planned allocation is:
- Boundiali: 100,000m focused on resource growth and confidence across BD, BM and BST
- Napié: 30,000m aimed at growing the current 1.16Moz resource
Owning the rigs gives Aurum direct control over scheduling and drilling intensity. For investors, that may support a steady stream of assays and reduce dependence on external contractors, although the benefits still depend on drilling success and execution.
The company also reported $54.7 million in cash at 30 June 2026, unaudited. That cash position is expected to support concurrent drilling, studies and permitting work.
"Our balance sheet remains strong with $54.7M in cash, enabling us to advance drilling, studies and permitting in parallel," Dr Wang said. He added that environmental approval in May and delivery of the PFS and Maiden Ore Reserve in June had set a pathway toward mining licence work and DFS completion later in 2026.
What Investors Should Watch Next
According to the announcement, several milestones are due across the remainder of 2026. These provide the main reference points for whether the latest drilling translates into larger and better-defined resources.
| Milestone | Target timing | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Next Boundiali MRE update | End Q3 CY2026 | Expected to include BM drilling and may reflect growth at BMT1, BMT2 and BMT3 |
| Boundiali DFS | Late CY2026 | Intended to define project economics and development parameters in greater detail |
| Napié drilling programme | Ongoing CY2026 | Could add to the current 1.16Moz resource base |
| Mining licence applications | In progress | Part of the broader project development sequence |
| Regional scout drilling | CY2026 | Testing new targets identified from soil anomalies and mapping |
The most immediate catalyst is the next Boundiali MRE update. That event should show whether the drilling reported here has added ounces, improved confidence, or both.

The Investment View From This Update
This drilling announcement adds to the evidence that the Boundiali Gold Project remains open at depth and along strike, particularly at BMT3, while BMT2 and BMT1 continue to move toward stronger classification through infill and extension work.
The combination of a 3.22Moz resource, a 1.21Moz Ore Reserve, an active DFS timeline and a large in-house drill fleet gives Aurum a multi-track development story rather than a single exploration result to assess.
That said, the main value test will come with the next resource update and later study work. High-grade intercepts attract attention, but investors will be watching whether those results convert into a larger and more confident resource base, and whether that supports the economics of a future mining operation at Boundiali.
