Bindi Metals Strikes High-Grade Gold and Silver in Maiden Ravni Drill Program

Bindi Metals Limited (ASX: BIM) has reported high-grade gold and silver results from its maiden drill program at the Ravni Project in Serbia, with early assays indicating mineralisation across multiple prospects within an interpreted approximately 3 km epithermal gold-silver corridor. According to the ASX announcement, the first-pass campaign comprised 14 diamond drill holes for 2,159.4 metres, while most assay results are still pending over the coming 6 to 8 weeks.

The maiden program matters because it has already delivered a high-grade gold hit at Drenjak and a high-grade silver intersection at Rudnjak North, while also improving the structural understanding of Rujak. These results support management's view that Ravni hosts a sizeable hydrothermal system. However, the company has not reported true widths at this stage, and all quoted intervals are downhole lengths.

"The maiden drill program has significantly exceeded our expectations confirming high-grade gold and silver mineralisation at multiple prospects and, importantly, demonstrated the presence of a large epithermal hydrothermal system across the Ravni Project," said Mark Freeman, CEO of Bindi Metals.

"We have a much clearer understanding of where to focus the next phase of drilling, with multiple targets remaining open and the majority of assays still to be received."

Drenjak Delivers the Standout Gold Result

The strongest gold result in the update came from RAV26011 at Drenjak, where rush assays returned 2m at 21.6 g/t gold from 47m, including 1m at 37.8 g/t gold. According to the report, assays are still pending directly below that interval.

That matters because the hole appears to validate earlier surface and underground sampling. The company said the intersection corresponds closely with previously reported surface channel sampling of 6m at 15.3 g/t gold and historic adit sampling of 4m at 19.0 g/t gold, suggesting continuity from surface to depth.

Furthermore, the company reported a second mineralised interval in the same hole, with 4.1m at 0.45 g/t gold and 2.6 g/t silver from 110m. This lower zone remains open, with further assays below it still pending.

What Does the Geology at Drenjak Indicate?

In the report, Bindi described the high-grade zone as being hosted in diorite and breccia with bismuthinite-pyrite sulphides and strong silicification. In simpler terms, the mineralised rock shows signs that hot, metal-bearing fluids moved through broken rock and deposited gold together with sulphide minerals.

Bismuth minerals are not themselves the main target, but they can be associated with certain high-temperature gold systems. For investors, that geological association can matter because it helps geologists assess whether the drill hit sits within a broader mineralised structure rather than being an isolated occurrence.

Did Earlier Drilling Issues Reflect Geology or Technical Factors?

The report also explained why earlier Drenjak holes did not produce the same level of success. Holes RAV26001 and RAV26003 experienced poor core recovery in the upper 60m to 70m, which the company attributed to unmapped historic workings and a highly fractured ore zone.

Bindi stated that a larger-capacity rig used for RAV26011 improved core recovery to above 80% in the high-grade mineralised zone. According to the company, this suggests the earlier difficulties were linked to drilling conditions rather than a lack of mineralisation.

The update also noted that reverse circulation drilling may be the preferred method for testing the top 100m at Drenjak in the next phase, subject to permitting and work program approvals.

Rudnjak North Points to a Large Epithermal System

At Rudnjak North, the significance goes beyond a single silver intercept. The report stated that all three holes drilled at the prospect intersected broad zones of vuggy silica, pyrite and breccia host rocks over more than 80m downhole, which Bindi interprets as evidence of a large hydrothermal system.

Rush assays from RAV26010 covered only part of the hole, from 76.4m to 120.9m. At the bottom of that rushed interval, the company reported:

  • 5m at 71.1 g/t silver from 112.8m
  • Including 1m at 341 g/t silver
  • With all assays still pending below that intercept

The key point is that the silver mineralisation sits at the end of the current assay interval. That leaves open the possibility that the mineralised system continues at depth, although this remains to be confirmed by pending lab results.

The ASX update described the upper part of the system as containing massive to semi-massive sulphide breccia and intense vuggy silica alteration. In plain language, the rock has been strongly altered by acidic hot fluids, leaving porous silica-rich zones and sulphide-rich broken rock.

This style is consistent with the upper levels of a high-sulphidation epithermal system. These systems are known globally for hosting gold and silver deposits, often with metal zonation that changes with depth.

Permit restrictions limited where drill pads could be placed, leaving the company to drill from the footwall side of the fault. Even so, the drilling delivered useful structural information.

The company said the results indicate that mineralisation dips north and plunges east, and that some mineralisation may be "bleeding" along the fault zone from the main target. One of the reported intersections was:

  • 2.3m at 0.06 g/t gold, 5.1 g/t silver, 0.3% lead and 0.3% zinc from 11.6m

This is not the main result investors were likely hoping for at Rujak, but structurally it may still matter. In addition, a better understanding of fault geometry can reduce exploration risk by helping geologists position future drill holes more accurately. Full assays from Rujak are still pending.

Project Setting Adds Context to the Ravni Exploration Case

The Ravni Project sits in Serbia's Raska Mining District within the Kopaonik Metallogenic Zone, part of the western Tethyan Magmatic Belt. In the announcement, Bindi described this as a globally significant mineral province known for large gold and polymetallic deposits.

The project covers approximately 30 km² to 30.5 km² of tenure, and Bindi is earning up to an 80% interest through its equity participation in Red Creek d.o.o., the licence-holding entity.
