RMX Uncovers Major Antimony-Gold System at Armidale

Red Mountain Mining (ASX: RMX) has announced significant progress at its Armidale Antimony-Gold Project, with new gold assays confirming the presence of an orogenic antimony-gold system and an accelerated exploration program now fully funded following recent strategic investment.

Gold Results Validate Orogenic Antimony-Gold System

Recent gold assays from 102 rock chip samples at the Oaky Creek Antimony prospect have returned values up to 0.54g/t Au, validating RMX's exploration model. The gold results show strong spatial correlation with previously reported high antimony values (up to 28.34% Sb), confirming the presence of a potentially significant orogenic antimony-gold system.

All anomalous gold samples were found within the prospective trends previously defined by soil antimony results, providing further evidence of an orogenic system similar to Larvotto Resources' (ASX: LRV) Hillgrove project, Australia's largest antimony deposit.

    Aggressive Exploration Program Commencing

Following exceptional support in Red Mountain's recent funding initiative, the company has announced an accelerated exploration program including:

    • 2,500m of shallow trenching across three separate antimony soil geochemical anomalies at Oaky Creek
    • A major soil sampling program with over 1,000 stations targeting three additional priority prospects:
      • East Hills Antimony prospect
      • Horsley Station gold prospect
      • Newly identified "Horsley North" gold target

The trenching program, set to commence in late July, aims to uncover basement geology beneath three unexplained soil anomalies where no outcropping mineralisation was detected. If successful, the program will confirm orogenic antimony mineralisation over significant strike lengths – 1.5km at Oaky Creek North and 800m at Oaky Creek South.

Target Strike Length Peak Antimony Values Peak Gold Values
Oaky Creek North 1.5km Up to 28.3% Sb Up to 0.54g/t Au
Oaky Creek South 800m Up to 28.34% Sb Up to 0.14g/t Au

    Testing Multiple High-Priority Targets

Beyond Oaky Creek, RMX has identified three additional high-priority targets that will be systematically explored:

    1. East Hills Antimony Prospect: Historical workings on a stibnite-bearing reef striking parallel to the Cobadah and Peel Faults. RMX will collect 88 soil samples over a 500 x 600m grid.

    2. Horsley Station Gold Prospect: Historical workings located on the Peel Fault with serpentinite host rock – analogous to the gold deposits of the Bingara and Teatree goldfields. RMX will collect 460 soil samples to test the full strike extent.

    3. Horsley North: A newly identified magnetic high target similar to Horsley Station, located 2km north. RMX will collect 484 soil samples at this previously unexplored target.

Historical portable XRF soil sampling at Horsley Station showed strong arsenic anomalies correlating perfectly with magnetic highs (interpreted as ultramafic bodies). Arsenic is considered an excellent pathfinder for gold mineralisation, and these anomalies remain open in both directions.

    Understanding Orogenic Antimony-Gold Systems

Orogenic antimony-gold deposits form through hydrothermal processes during mountain-building events. These systems typically produce quartz veins, breccias, and stockworks enriched in antimony, often with associated gold and/or tungsten mineralisation.

The Southern New England Orogen, where RMX's project is located, is recognised as Australia's premier antimony province. The Peel Fault System, which runs along the eastern boundary of RMX's tenement, has recognised world-class mineral potential with over 400 known orogenic gold and base metal occurrences along its 400km strike length.

Despite this potential, the area remains underexplored, with less than 200 mostly shallow drillholes over its entire length, creating a significant opportunity for new discoveries.

    Strategic Positioning in Critical Minerals

Antimony is classified as a critical mineral by many countries including the United States and Australia due to its applications in flame retardants, lead-acid batteries, and military applications. The combination with gold adds significant economic potential to RMX's exploration targets.

RMX's Armidale project is located just 85km west of Australia's largest antimony deposit (Larvotto's Hillgrove), providing an excellent geological analog for the company's exploration model.

Why Investors Should Follow Red Mountain Mining

Red Mountain Mining represents a compelling investment opportunity for several key reasons:

    1. Strategic Critical Mineral Focus: With antimony designated as a critical mineral and growing global demand, RMX is well-positioned in a sector with strong macro tailwinds.

    2. Multiple High-Quality Targets: With four distinct antimony-gold targets now being systematically explored, RMX offers investors multiple opportunities for discovery success.

    3. Strong Technical Validation: The correlation between gold and antimony values confirms the company's exploration model, significantly de-risking future exploration.

    4. Fully Funded Program: Following recent investment support (including from three strategic investors who are Top 20 shareholders in Larvotto Resources), RMX is fully funded for its Q3 and Q4 exploration initiatives.

    5. Underexplored Region: Despite its recognised mineral potential, the Peel Fault System remains significantly underexplored, creating substantial opportunity for new discoveries.

With an aggressive exploration program now underway and multiple catalysts expected in the coming months, Red Mountain Mining uncovers antimony-gold potential and is positioning itself as a significant player in Australia's antimony-gold sector.
