White Cliff Minerals' Drilling Success: Danvers Project Extends Mineralisation Beyond 400m

White Cliff Minerals (ASX: WCN; OTCQB: WCMLF) has announced promising results from its step-out reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Danvers Copper Project in Nunavut, Canada, with broad intervals of sulphide mineralisation observed in all holes completed so far, significantly extending the known mineralisation footprint.

Drilling Results Expand Copper Potential at Danvers

The summer drilling campaign has successfully more than doubled the strike length at Danvers to over 400 meters, with sulphides observed in all holes. This represents a strike increase of more than 250% from previous drilling, with the company targeting further expansion to more than 800 meters during the current campaign.

Key highlights from the drilling program include:

    • DAN25012, a 100-meter step-out hole to the southwest, produced 59 meters of visible sulphides from 56m depth, including more than 10 meters of visually identified 5% bornite and 3% chalcocite
    • DAN25010 and DAN25011, drilled 75 meters northeast of previous holes, returned 80 meters and 113 meters of visible sulphides respectively
    • DAN25009, drilled 200 meters northeast of previous holes, returned broad zones of lower concentration sulphides

These results build upon White Cliff Minerals' maiden drilling success at Danvers earlier this year, which confirmed the historical resource with impressive intercepts including 175m @ 2.5% Cu, 90m @ 4% Cu, and 105m @ 2.25% Cu.

"An excellent start to the step out RC drilling at Danvers where sulphide mineralisation has been observed in all holes, rapidly extending the drill tested mineralisation footprint to over 400m," said Troy Whittaker, Managing Director of White Cliff Minerals.

    Expanding Regional Potential

Beyond the immediate drilling area, White Cliff has identified additional high-potential targets:

    • A newly identified outcropping zone of chalcocite/bornite mineralisation approximately 4.5km southwest of Danvers will be tested during the current program
    • The area between this new zone and Danvers remains untested, suggesting potential for a mineralised trend exceeding 10km
    • Diamond drilling has also commenced at the Hulk target after resolving some operational issues with the original contractor

The company expects to receive the first batch of assay results from both drilling programs (Danvers RC and Hulk diamond drilling) in September, along with results from a drone-based magnetotellurics survey across the Danvers mineral lease due later in August.

    Understanding Copper Sulphide Minerals

The drilling program has identified several copper sulphide minerals that are important indicators of potential copper grade:

Bornite (Cuâ‚…FeSâ‚„) is a copper iron sulphide mineral with a distinctive purple-bronze color often called "peacock ore." It contains approximately 63% copper by weight and is considered a high-grade copper mineral. The presence of significant bornite in the drill chips at Danvers is a positive indicator of potentially economic copper mineralisation.

Chalcocite (Cuâ‚‚S) is one of the most copper-rich sulphide minerals, containing about 80% copper by weight. Its presence in substantial quantities, as observed in several of the drill holes, is particularly encouraging for potential resource development.

The distribution and zonation of these copper minerals can provide valuable information about the deposit's formation and potential grade distribution, with chalcocite and bornite typically representing higher-grade zones compared to chalcopyrite.

    Future Plans and Exploration Timeline

White Cliff Minerals has outlined an ambitious exploration strategy focused on demonstrating significant scale at the Danvers Project:

    1. Ongoing RC drilling will continue stepping out to the southwest, with expectations of continuous mineralisation along a strike of more than 800 meters
    2. Testing of newly identified mineralisation approximately 4.5km southwest of the current drilling area
    3. Diamond drilling at Hulk target is now underway with increased production levels
    4. First assay results expected in September for both RC and diamond drilling programs
    5. Drone-based magnetotellurics survey results due in August to guide future exploration targeting

The company aims to build upon its already impressive copper intercepts from previous drilling to establish Danvers as a significant copper project.

Investment Thesis: Building a Major Copper Player in Canada

White Cliff Minerals is strategically positioned to benefit from several key advantages:

    1. World-class copper intercepts: Initial drilling results including 175m @ 2.5% Cu, 90m @ 4% Cu, and 105m @ 2.25% Cu demonstrate the high-grade nature of the Danvers deposit.

    2. Significant scale potential: The current drilling program has already more than doubled the strike length to over 400m, with targets to extend this to 800m and evidence of a potential 10km mineralised trend.

    3. Regional exploration upside: The company holds a substantial land position covering 1,228 km² in the highly prospective Rae Copper Project area, with multiple high-grade copper occurrences identified.

    4. Strategic copper jurisdiction: Canada represents a stable, mining-friendly jurisdiction with established infrastructure, particularly important given copper's critical role in the energy transition.

    5. Historic resource foundation: The Danvers Prospect contains a historic resource estimate of 4.16 million tons at a grade of 2.96% Cu, providing a solid foundation for resource expansion.

Why Investors Should Follow White Cliff Minerals

White Cliff Minerals presents a compelling opportunity for investors seeking exposure to copper exploration with near-term catalysts:

    1. Active exploration program with regular news flow: Multiple drilling programs underway with results expected in September

    2. Rapidly expanding mineralisation footprint: Already doubled the strike length with potential to expand further

    3. High-grade copper mineralisation: Previous drilling has demonstrated impressive copper grades

    4. Strong technical team: Led by Managing Director Troy Whittaker and Technical Director Roderick McIllree, with significant experience in resource development

    5. Upcoming catalysts: Assay results, geophysical survey results, and continued drilling updates will provide regular news flow through 2025

With copper's fundamental importance to electrification and renewable energy transition, White Cliff Minerals has positioned itself as an emerging player in a strategic mineral with significant upside potential as exploration continues to demonstrate the scale of the Danvers Copper Project.
