Titan Minerals Strikes High-Grade Gold at Dynasty as New Shear-Hosted Discovery Expands Cerro Verde Growth Pipeline

Titan Minerals Limited (ASX: TTM) has reported a new high-grade gold-silver intercept at its 100%-owned Dynasty Gold Project in southern Ecuador that appears to sit outside the current resource and introduces a new mineralisation style at the Cerro Verde prospect. According to the ASX announcement, diamond drillhole CVDD26-199 returned 33.5 metres at 6.6 g/t gold and 55.5 g/t silver from 236.7 metres, highlighting what the company describes as an extensive zone of shear and vein hosted mineralisation.

The result matters because Titan's update does more than add a strong drill intercept. It suggests previous drilling at Brecha-Comanche may have missed this style of mineralisation due to drill orientation, potentially leaving a large structural corridor under-tested despite existing work across the prospect.

"Our technical team are highly encouraged by these latest results, which have provided a breakthrough in our understanding of the major mineralisation pathways and controls at Dynasty," said Melanie Leighton, CEO of Titan Minerals.

"The discovery of this new style of shear hosted mineralisation is significant, with further drilling now planned to target repetitions and extensions to hosted mineralisation in the northwest structural corridor. Any additional mineralisation discovered in this area has the potential to materially enhance the resource."

The Standout Drill Result and What It Shows

The key intercept from the latest drilling campaign was reported from an area outside the current Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) at Cerro Verde. In practical terms, that means the result may represent potential additional mineralised tonnes rather than simply confirming ground already included in the resource model.

The headline intervals reported by Titan were:

Interval From (m) To (m) Width (m) Gold (g/t) Silver (g/t)
Main interval 236.7 270.2 33.5 6.6 55.5
High-grade core 244.1 248.6 4.5 39.5 362.0
Sub-interval 278.0 283.2 5.2 1.4 9.3
Sub-interval 302.3 305.9 3.6 2.3 6.5
Sub-interval 339.1 342.3 3.2 1.5 32.0
Sub-interval 385.0 389.0 4.0 1.1 10.4

The 4.5 metre interval grading 39.5 g/t gold and 362.0 g/t silver is particularly important because it shows a high-grade core within a broader mineralised zone. Investors often look for this combination of width and grade because it can indicate stronger continuity and support follow-up drilling.

Furthermore, Titan also reported smaller intervals deeper in the same hole, which may point to a broader mineralised setting rather than a single isolated zone. True widths are not yet known, with the company stating reported results are downhole thicknesses.

Why the Shear-Hosted Gold Discovery Matters

According to the drilling update, the new intercept is interpreted to be associated with a shear zone within a broad northwest structural corridor about 1.6 kilometres long and 800 metres wide. This is a material geological shift in how Cerro Verde may be assessed going forward.

A shear zone is an area where rocks have been deformed and fractured by movement in the Earth's crust. These broken rock zones can allow mineral-rich fluids to move through the ground and deposit gold and silver over wider areas than narrow veins alone.

Titan said this newly recognised shear-hosted mineralisation appears to be more pervasive than the typical vein-hosted style previously defined at Cerro Verde. That distinction is important because vein-hosted mineralisation can produce strong grades, but continuity can sometimes be more variable. A broader shear-hosted system may, however, offer a larger target footprint for resource growth if drilling confirms continuity.

What Is Shear-Hosted Mineralisation?

For non-specialist investors, shear-hosted mineralisation refers to gold or silver deposited in rock zones that have been squeezed, fractured and altered over time. These zones often act as pathways for hot fluids carrying dissolved metals.

Key terms from Titan's update include:

  • Shear zone: A deformed rock corridor that may host broad mineralisation
  • Vein-hosted mineralisation: Gold or silver concentrated in narrower quartz or sulphide veins
  • Structural corridor: A large zone controlled by faults, shears or other geological structures that influence where mineralisation forms
  • MRE: Mineral Resource Estimate, a formal estimate of contained tonnes and grade
  • RC rig: Reverse circulation drilling, commonly used for faster and lower-cost shallower drilling
  • g/t: Grams per tonne, the standard measure of grade for gold and silver

Broad structural zones can, in some cases, improve the chances of finding repeat mineralised intersections across multiple holes. That does not guarantee a resource increase, but it gives the company a clearer targeting model for future drilling.

Historical Drilling Orientation May Have Missed the Target

One of the more important parts of the ASX announcement is Titan's explanation of why this mineralisation may not have been identified earlier. The company said the shear zone appears to trend sub-parallel to most past drilling at Brecha-Comanche.

If drillholes run in nearly the same direction as the mineralised structure, they may skim along it, clip only part of it, or miss repetitions entirely. By contrast, drilling across the structure at a higher angle can provide a better test of its width, continuity and grade.

Titan has now designed drilling perpendicular to the mineralised structures, and this work is expected to commence in the coming fortnight once drill platforms are prepared. That change in drill orientation is a central part of the market relevance of this update, as it suggests the company may have found a more effective way to test an already known prospect area.

"Previous holes were primarily drilled in a similar orientation to these structures, which means this shear-hosted style may have been under-sampled to date. If the revised drill pattern confirms repeat zones, the discovery could support future resource growth at Cerro Verde," Titan stated in its announcement.

Cerro Verde Has Multiple 2026 Growth Targets Beyond the New Shear Zone

The announcement also outlined several additional resource growth targets that Titan plans to test with extensional drilling during 2026. These targets sit alongside the newly recognised northwest corridor and, in addition, broaden the scope of the current campaign.

1. Brecha-Comanche Waste Dump

Titan said a historic small-scale mining waste dump covering about 250 metres by 250 metres and around 10 metres thick may conceal extensions of Brecha-Comanche mineralisation. Drilling is planned to test whether mineralisation continues beneath the dump footprint.

2. Kaliman Porphyry, Vein and Shear Extensions

At Kaliman, Titan reported that broad zones of vein and shear hosted mineralisation remain open. The company has linked stronger mineralisation to contact zones, especially around the diorite porphyry "O" unit, where abundant A-type veinlets have been observed.

In simpler terms, Titan is targeting rock boundaries where mineralising fluids may have concentrated more effectively. These target areas also lie within the same broader northwest structural setting recognised at Cerro Verde.

3. Major Structural Intersection Points

Titan has also identified deeper targets where important regional structures meet. According to the update, these areas have seen limited shallow drilling and may not yet have tested the preferred rock units that host much of Dynasty's mineralisation, particularly in topographically higher areas.

This is a relevant detail for investors because it suggests the company is not relying on a single drill result. Instead, it has framed a broader 2026 programme around several distinct resource growth opportunities.

The Existing Dynasty Resource Provides a Substantial Base

The new discovery sits within a project that already has a sizeable mineral resource. Titan's March 2026 MRE for Dynasty totals 65.55 million tonnes at 1.85 g/t gold and 12.38 g/t silver, containing 3.90 million ounces of gold and 26.10 million ounces of silver across four deposits.

Deposit Tonnes (Mt) Gold grade (g/t) Silver grade (g/t) Gold ounces (Moz) Silver ounces (Moz)
Cerro Verde 50.82 1.66 9.89 2.70 16.15
Iguana 10.93 2.02 13.68 0.71 4.81
Trapichillo 2.94 3.80 39.31 0.36 3.71
Papayal 0.87 4.54 50.85 0.13 1.43
Total 65.55 1.85 12.38 3.90 26.10

By classification, the resource is split as follows:

Category Tonnes (Mt) Gold (g/t) Silver (g/t) Gold ounces (Moz) Silver ounces (Moz)
Indicated 17.36 2.18 13.94 1.21 7.78
Inferred 48.20 1.73 11.82 2.68 18.32
Total 65.55 1.85 12.38 3.90 26.10

This resource base gives important context to the latest result. Dynasty is already an advanced exploration and early resource-stage gold project. The current drilling programme is aimed at potentially expanding and refining an existing inventory rather than defining a project from scratch.

What the Drilling Schedule Says About Near-Term Catalysts

Titan's drilling update points to a busy period through late 2026 and into early 2027. The company stated that a 10,000 metre resource drilling programme is underway at Cerro Verde and may be expanded to include high-value extensional targets.

The next reported milestones include:

Activity Timing
Perpendicular drilling of shear-hosted targets Coming fortnight
RC rig arrival at Dynasty Early October 2026
Extensional drilling at Brecha-Comanche and Kaliman 2026
Dynasty Scoping Study Late 2026
Dynasty MRE update Early 2027

Three diamond drill rigs are already operating, and Titan said a "significant number" of drill results is expected in the coming weeks. The incoming RC rig is expected to support shallow resource infill drilling below 200 metres depth and first-pass testing of exploration targets at lower cost than diamond drilling.

Titan also reported that its recently appointed Chief Operating Officer is on site assessing infrastructure options for the tailings storage facility, process plant, and waste rock management areas. This work will feed directly into the Dynasty Scoping Study, which is anticipated in late 2026.

Why This Update Matters to ASX Gold Investors

For ASX investors following gold exploration stocks, the most important aspect of this update is that Titan has reported a high-grade intercept outside the current resource while also changing the geological model at Cerro Verde. Several points stand out:

  • The intercept sits outside the current MRE, creating potential resource upside subject to future drilling and estimation
  • A new mineralisation style has been identified, which may broaden the target profile at Cerro Verde
  • Past drill orientation may have limited earlier success, giving the next round of drilling added importance
  • The structural corridor is large, at around 1.6km by 800m
  • Multiple follow-up targets are already defined, which may support sustained news flow
  • The project already hosts 3.90Moz of gold and 26.10Moz of silver in resources, providing considerable scale

This does not confirm a resource increase on its own, and investors will still need to see whether follow-up drilling can reproduce the result across useful widths and distances. However, according to the ASX update, Titan now has a stronger structural framework for targeting further mineralisation across Cerro Verde.

The Key Point From Titan's Dynasty Drilling Update

Titan Minerals' latest Dynasty drilling update points to more than a single strong assay. The company has identified shear-hosted gold-silver mineralisation at Cerro Verde, reported a 33.5 metre intercept at 6.6 g/t gold, and linked that result to a broad northwest structural corridor that appears to have been only lightly tested in the correct orientation.

With three diamond rigs operating, an RC rig expected in October 2026, extensional drilling planned across several targets, a Scoping Study due in late 2026, and a resource update targeted for early 2027, Dynasty is entering a period of sustained operational and news flow.

For investors, the next key question is whether perpendicular drilling can confirm that this newly recognised structural corridor supports repeat mineralised zones outside the current resource.
